Just off the cost of Koh Tao, Shark Island is named for its shape rather than for sharks. There are some black-tip sharks in the vicinity but there is also a lot more to be seen.
Sank in 2011 as an artificial wreck for divers to enjoy, it is a good place to discover about wreck diving and see the evolution of marine life around the HTMS Sattakut.
Koh Yippon Lek is one of the great dive site in the Ang Thong Marine Park. Located far from the main islands it is away from the crowds.
